Such a Beautiful Sight!

I just couldn't resist taking a picture of some of the catalogs as I (well I should say "we" since Lindsay was helping) put my demo labels on the catalogs.  Isn't this a beautiful sight?  Of couse Lindsay sort of rolled her eyes at me and said "all righty then" in true Lindsay fashion as I was taking the picture.  Yes, the catalogs have arrived and they go live tomorrow at 12:00 noon MST so that would be 2:00 p.m. here in Michigan.  I'm so excited!  This has got to be one of the best catalogs ever.  Not that they aren't good every year, but this one just seems to stand out to me.  So pretty and so many things on my wish list.  You are gonna love it!!  I promise!  Haven't got your copy yet?  Come to my Open House on July 13 from 5-9 p.m. and pick yours up or contact me to make arrangements for getting your copy.  Speaking of my Open House, you are not going to want to miss out.  I've got all kinds of fun things planned.......make and takes, food, free gifts....you won't want to miss.  Please RSVP if you will be attending so I'm sure to have lots available.
Now to the stamping project for today...................TaDa!!!

Isn't it beautiful?  It is, if I do say so myself.  he-he  Lots of new products here folks.  Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride cardstock, Presto Patterns DSP, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder, Very Vanilla 1/8" grosgrain ribbon, Level 1 Hostess set Because I Care.  I watercolored using Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Markers and Aqua Painters on SU watercolor paper.  The background Presto Patterns DSP was brayered with Pink Pirouette ink to make it pop.  I wasn't so sure about the Blushing Bride cardstock, but using it of course I'm in love.  Doesn't it happen everytime?  It has such a vintage look.  Reminds me of a planter I can remember my grandma having.  In fact I think I have that planter somewhere.  I'll have to dig that out.  Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,
Renee

Missing in Action

You've probably noticed or at least I hope you've noticed (*wink*) that I've been missing for a little while here.  I've had a busy week, but not the fun kind.  My mom has been sick and in the hospital.  I won't go into lots of details, but her potassium got dangerously low and if you know anything about potassium it is very important in how our bodies function.  This along with her herniated disk problem has really had her down.  Well I'm happy to report that Mom finally came home last night and she is doing better.  She could still use lots of prayers though.  If you'd like to drop her a card (hint, hint) it would be wonderful.  I know she would appreciate it and I would too.  Here's her address: Sandra Romain, 9865 Weale Rd., Bay Port, MI  48720.

Now onto what I wanted to share today.  It's not much, but it's what I have for now, but wait until next week.  Next week is looking good as far as my time so I'm hoping to get some stamping done.

For Father's Day the ladies of our church wanted to do something special for the fathers since they really don't get a banquet like the ladies do.  There are a lot of farmers in our church and taking a Saturday for a banquet really isn't doable and let's face it men probably aren't really into all the little details of a banquet except for the food part.  So we decided that each dad would get a nice loaf of homemade sweet bread.

These are the ones I made.  Banana bread of course!  I love banana bread and in fact I used the same recipe that my wedding cake was made from.  It's a great recipe and so easy.  I love easy!  Maybe I can share that with you in the next few days.

Here is a sampling of the breads everyone made.  As you can see I had to put the Stampin'Up! touch to them.  I ordered this new sneak peak stamp and knew it would come in handy, but didn't realize how quickly.

So that's it for today.  Many blessings to you all and thanks for the prayers for my mom.

Tri Fold Shutter Card

I had told you I'd be back with another fun fold card idea and I am.  Now I wouldn't recommend making these cards in large quantities, but they are nice for a special occasion.  This one is called a Shutter Card and you can find the tutorial along with a video HERE.  It's again by Beate Johns.  She does such a great job and I love her accent.  Not sure where she's from.  Everything is SU.  New In Color, Poppy Parade, returning Baja Breeze and current So Saffron.  Stamp set is Friends Never Fade.  All the new things will be available on July 1.  Did you order your catalog?  Contact me to order yours today.  They should be here either late next week or early the following week.  I can't wait to show you this new beautiful catalog.

A Wiper Card

I've been wanting to try one of these wiper cards for quite some time, but you know how it goes, things get put on the back burner for "some day."  Well someday arrived and I started it earlier this week, but didn't get around to finishing it until today. There is step by step instructions, but I watched the awesome tutorial by Beate Johns located HERE

Here the card is in the closed state:

Now partially open:
And open all the way:

Isn't it adorable how it pops up?  I love cards with movement.  Maybe another one is on the agenda for tomorrow?  We'll have to see.

Artistic Etchings Sneak Peak

I can't help myself.  I'm giving you yet another sneak peak.  At first sight of this set I thought, "oh no! not my style", but thought I'd go out of my comfort zone and get it anyway because I was sure there would be lots of awesome samples made with it and then I would be mad at myself for not getting it.  Well needless to say I'm happy I did.  This was not cased, it was my very own idea.  I find it best sometimes to not look at what others have done first.  Notice the hodgepodge hardware?  I admit, I hoard the stuff, but I'm turning over a new leaf and I'm gonna stop hoarding (well ok at least try!).*grin*  The DSP background paper is new as well.  It's called Newsprint .  You are going to love it.  It has so many possibilities to be sure.  Again I've used the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder.  The ink is Crumb Cake and Early Esspresso.

Thanks for stopping by.

Renee

Totally Tess Meets Pink Pirouette

I love when new colors come out and this year when old colors come back, so that I can introduce my stamp sets to new colors.  And that is what I did here with Totally Tess.  Totally Tess was in the Occasions Mini catalog and I'll let you in on a little secret, she's back in the new catalog!!  So if you missed getting her then you will be able to get her on July 1.  She comes with a lot of stamping related items, but she can be used for so many other reasons and with so many other stamp sets.  Here I've paired her up with a new hostess set that will be available on July 1 as well.  The set is called Cute by the Inch and another little secret is that there is a punch to match this set.  Oh so cute!!  So what are you waiting for call me to book your workshop so you can start earning these adorable new hostess sets and get your free catalog.
The colors I used are Pink Pirouette (retired In Color coming back as a core color), Marina Mist (a new core color) and Pear Pizzazz (a new 2010/11 In Color)  Do you like Tess' highlights?  Her hair was colored with the Daffodil Delight and hightlights with the New Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft, but now in a marker and ink pad and part of our core colors)  Woo Hoo!  This is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to all the new stuff that will be available on July1.  Again I ask, what are you waiting for?  Contact me to book your workshop so I can share all the fun new things that Stampin'Up! has to offer.  And remember I always provide free make and takes for you and your guests.

Blessings,
Renee

Another Sneak Peak

I just can't help myself.  I'm giving you another sneak peak of some new stuff.  This is just a $ store notebook that got a makeover.  A Garden Gala DSP makeover.  Notice the pencil?  Yes I cover a pencil with DSP paper as well.  I used the Mono Multi Glue to adhere.  I dyed the white organza ribbon using the Baja Breeze ink pad (Baja Breeze is making a comeback--Woo Hoo!)  I just rubbed it on the pad and dried.  The green scallop circle was embossed with a new Big Shot embossing folder called Vintage Wallpaper.  The inner scallop circle is a new 2 3/8" punch that will be available on July 1 as well.  See the rhinestones?  Well they aren't SU, but guess what?  SU is going to be carrying self adhesive rhinestones.  I am so excited about this one.  And in true SU form I'm sure that they will be better than any you can buy elsewhere.  SU always steps it up a notch.  Guess that's why I love 'em!  Oh and BTW I took the heatgun to the ribbon a little to make it crinkle.
Well that's all for now.  Have a great day!
Blessings,
Renee

Happy Birthday Lindsay Kay

I woke up this morning feeling very sentimental.  You see, 21 years ago this morning I awoke to my water breaking and my first born baby Lindsay Kay was on her way.  Little did I know the joy she would bring to me and her daddy not only on the day she arrived, but every day since.  Although she didn't arrive quickly.  Sixteen hours later, after contractions every 1 1/2 minutes, the doctor trying to move her to come down into the birth canal and her scooting back into the corner of my pelvis, she arrived by c-section at 11:37 pm on June 2, 1989.  We always tease her and tell her she just didn't want to come out and kept crawling back in  just like she does now in her bed when she needs to get up in the morning.  She is one special girl and we are so proud of the fine young woman she has become.

This is one of my fav pics of her on her 1st birthday.

Happy Birthday Lindsay Kay!

I'll be back tomorrow with some stamping.
Blessings,
Renee
